Tuners build an off-road-ready Cayenne without going overboard

As you probably know, most Porsche Cayenne owners are not enthusiasts of off-road driving (unless you count pavement parking as such, which we do not). As California-based tuner E-Motion Engineering tells us, though, the SUV has quite some potential.

According to the owner of the tune-up shop, the challenge is to create a Cayenne that would look decent enough for urban driving and at the same time won’t break when you take it to a hiking trail or a mountain ski resort.

To maximize the practicality of the luxury soft-roader, the company raises its suspension by mere two inches (50 mm) and relies on aftermarket wheels shod with large-diameter tires to do the rest. The underbody gets robust sheet-metal protection against impacts, and the sides enjoy rock sliders that serve the same goal.

The result is a crossover that looks fairly close to stock but does not shun an occasional drive down a gravel or dirt trail.
