Check out a homegrown Porsche Cayenne Soft Top going for $45k

A first-generation Porsche Cayenne with a foldable soft top is up for grabs in Texas right now for an asking price of $45,000 USD.

It remains unclear who carried out the conversion and when. The seller mentions that the top folds down automatically and that the car is in fair overall condition with a fresh paint coat and barely used tires.

If the photos are any indication, the roof collapses into the trunk when folded, although it sticks out a bit. Another matter that concerns us is whether you can use the trunk at least partially with the top raised or not. As for the structural integrity, the owner makes no claims but the door frames appear untouched, so there should be enough rigidity for daily driving.

The car is 11 years old with around 98,000 km (61,000 miles) on the odo. A 4.8-liter V8 drives it with 405 PS (400 hp / 298 kW).

Before you look it up, however, note also that the owner insists it is a limited Transsyberia example, one of 600 cars produced to celebrate the victory of Porsche in the namesake rally. At the same time, the SUV is clearly a Cayenne GTS by the look of it, whereas all Transsyberia models produced were S spec. In other words, tread very carefully with this one.
