Porsche Cayenne E Hybrid shows up in a video ahead of reveal

The YouTube team of ThomasGeigerCar has posted a review of the fastest and most powerful Porsche Cayenne version destined to fill in for the discontinued Cayenne GT in Europe. The car has yet to be officially introduced, but the reviewers believe it will be the most expensive Cayenne on offer.

Porsche decided not to make its 659-PS (650-hp / 485-kW) Cayenne GT available in Europe due to its limited compliance with the local environmental laws. To compensate, the company will be releasing a different model that the host of the video believes will be called ‘Cayenne E Hybrid’.

It will allegedly utilize an IC engine rated at 500 metric horsepower and an electric motor contributing another 200, for a net total of 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and over 900 Nm (662 lb-ft) of torque. Outfitted like this, the E Hybrid will become the new flagship of the Cayenne family with a top speed north of 300 km/h (186 mph).

Aside from that, the car will take advantage of a superior battery pack with 30% more capacity and the option for rapid charging. All specifics, including electric range, remain undisclosed at this point.

ThomasGeigerCar claims that vehicle will ship in two flavors: standard SUV and more driver-oriented coupe/SUV. The latter will reportedly get assorted suspension tweaks, performance brakes and a different body kit including a rear wing. Most of the tech will be taken from the Cayenne GT.

The expected starting price is €220,000.
