Porsche unveils the Cayenne E-Hybrid SUV

German luxury car manufacturer Porsche has released the electrified Cayenne E-Hybrid SUV with a powerful engine duo and a few new trim options.

The exterior appearance of the new hybrid vehicle is virtually identical to that of its ICE-powered counterpart, except for redesigned wheels and brake supports that are now painted Acid Green for whatever reason. On the inside, there is a new multimedia center with a large screen showing various runtime data. Options include larger wheels, designer-made seats, windshield heating and such features as the Active Suspension Management and the Auxiliary Cabin Conditioning.

The car utilizes a 455 hp (340 kW) strong drivetrain which includes a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbo engine, an electric motor and a battery set. Charging times vary between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the power source. Gear switching is relegated to an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. The utility vehicle accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under five seconds and uses around 3.5 liters of gasoline per 100 km on average. That would be around 80 miles per gallon in the UK, or 67 MPG in the US.

The new vehicle will hit the European market later this month, while its U.S. release won’t happen until 2019. It is going to be priced above €90,000 in Germany and above $80,000 in the USA.
