Porsche wants a coupe-like version of Cayenne

The German luxury car manufacturer Porsche plans to expand its model lineup with a coupe-like version of its Cayenne SUV. The vehicle may or may not premiere at the next International Motor Show in Paris, France.

Nothing is being revealed about the overall design direction of this Cayenne cross/coupe hybrid, except that it gets a highly sloping roof characteristic of all vehicles of this type. It is likely to utilize at least some engines present in the base series, including a turbocharged V8 engine with 550 hp (410 kW).

A cross/coupe hybrid is far from being the only interesting planned addition to the Porsche lineup. Among other things, the manufacturer wants to revive the legendary Porsche 928 series produced between 1977 and 1995. A grand tourer model styled like the Porsche Panamera will be the first to herald the second coming of the 928.

Furthermore, the company hopes to bring the all-electric Porsche Macan series with engines rated at 217, 326 and 435 hp (162, 243 and 324 kW) out on the market by 2022.
