Porsche rolls out the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT, stealthily

When automakers develop new models, word usually gets out ahead of the official announcement. If not, spy shots are your second best marker that something new is coming. We don’t know how, but Porsche has managed to play hide-and-seek with its new Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT until today.

The sheer scope of modifications made to the coupe-like SUV evidences that this is not just a quick refresh, either. The high-end Turbo GT spec boasts a grey and light blue paint scheme, golden wheels, exhaust tips in the middle of the rear, and a large rear spoiler. It also benefits from major chassis and stability control tweaks.

The turbocharged V8 gets further massaged from 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) to 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW). The torque goes up from 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) to 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). The eight-speed “hydraulic manual” gearbox stays, but the company says it now switches gears even faster.

The Coupe Turbo GT only needs 3.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph), surpassing the top Turbo S E-Hybrid with its 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW) by a half of a second. It can also reach 300 km/h (186 mph).

Pre-orders are already open for the coupe-like SUV with two individual seats on the rear row (no other options). Prices start from €196,078, and customer deliveries are expected in September.
