Tuners release 4.25L Cayman GT4 ahead of Porsche

Based on the spy photos and the recently revealed Porsche Clubsport Concept, the German automotive company is getting its new 718 Cayman GT4 coupe series ready to rumble. Rumors say it might get a trimmed-down version of the 4.0-liter 911 GT3 engine. But even as Porsche is getting closer to the premiere, DeMan Motorsport already accepts orders for a much more interesting engine upgrade.

The tuner released a four-liter custom engine for the Cayman series a while ago, and what they unveiled today is essentially an improved version of the same engine. The power unit comes with 4.25 liters of displacement room and can be tuned for either street/track or street/race use. The former prioritizes torque with 445 hp (332 kW) and 510 Nm (376 pound-feet), while the latter goes for maximum horsepower with 488 hp (364 kW) and 488 Nm (360 lbft).

If you don’t feel like letting people tinker with your Cayman engine just yet, consider waiting for the release of the Porsche 718 Cayman T. The car only packs 295 hp (220 kW), but features advanced adaptive suspension, the full Sport Chrono package, Porsche Torque Vectoring rear differential and other useful tech options.
