Following last year’s rumors about the high-performance GT4 RS version of the Porsche 718 Cayman, car spotters have sighted the actual car in the streets a couple times. Now, multiple sources claim it has north of 500 horsepower.
According to anonymous reports, the new RS will not only be lighter than the standard GT4, but also more powerful, at 507 PS (500 hp, or 373 kW) as opposed to 420 PS (414 hp, or 310 kW).
The chassis, which uses components taken from the 911 GT3 racer, will allegedly stay unchanged for the most part, but will still shed some kilos while gaining greater structural rigidity. The road clearance will drop a bit further.
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS may debut in late 2021 or early 2022 priced starting from $130,000 in the United States. We won’t know for sure until the official premiere, though.
