Porsche introduces another closed competition at Pikes Peak

The North American office of the German luxury car manufacturer Porsche has announced an all-new spec racing event to be held annually on the famous Pikes Peak summit in Colorado, U.S.A. To be qualified as a participant, one has to own a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport and receive a formal invitation.

Furthermore, all Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport vehicles must be fully compliant with the standing IMSA and GT4 requirements and regulations to gain admission to the event. Porsche will hold its first Pikes Peak spec race on July 24, 2018 for up to eight participants.

The original Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race dates all the way back to the year 1916. Its current all-time record belongs to Sébastien Loeb, who piloted his purpose-built Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak to the very summit in 8 minutes 13.878 seconds.
