The Porsche Macan Turbo SUV is now available with a new 2.9-liter turbo-six engine that comes as a replacement for the old 3.6-liter unit.
The output of the new mill amounts to 440 hp (328 kW), which represents a sizeable improvement over the predecessor’s 400 hp (298 kW). The peak torque stays close to the 550 Nm (406 pound-feet) mark, but is now available in the wider range of 1,800 – 5,600 RPM.
Sending the power to the wheels through a 7-G PDK robotic transmission, the car sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the pre-facelift Macan Turbo can do and a full second ahead of the Macan S. The top speed is capped at 270 km/h (168 mph).
Standard equipment not includes 20-inch wheels, a sports exhausts system, LED headlights, and brake discs with tungsten carbide (WC) coating. Buyers may opt for height-adjustable air suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a torque vectoring system.
Appearance tweaks are limited to a new front bumper, side sills, and rear spoiler. Inside, there are new sport seats and a different finish that involves leather, Alcantara and aluminum. On-board tech notably includes a multimedia system with a 10.9-inch display and 14-speaker Bose audio.
