2022 Porsche Macan bows with design, tech and trim improvements

Porsche has styled the new Macan with different front air intakes, rear diffuser, wheels and lighting. The upmarket Macan GTS additionally boasts Sport Design side skirts, black tailpipes and exclusive matte-black wheels.

Inside, the center console is new and so is the compact gear selector, while the GT Sport steering wheel stems from a Porsche 911. New trim packages are now available, but a 10.9-inch multimedia screen, satellite navigation and a chronometer come as standard features.

The entry-spec 2022 Porsche Macan still holds onto its old 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, which now produces 265 PS (261 hp / 195 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. A sprint from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) now lasts only 5.8 seconds, and the top speed lies at 232 km/h (144 mph).

Things have taken a similar route with the Macan S, which now produces 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. With a launch time of 4.4 seconds, it sprints half a second faster than its predecessor did.

Finally, the Macan GTS offers the most power and acceleration with 440 PS (434 hp / 324 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. It needs 4.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

Sales in the United States will begin in early 2022 starting from $54,900.
