Porsche has been testing the all-electric Macan CUV for more than a year now, and the latest bunch of spy photos shows multiple pre-production units escorted along the track by a white Taycan.
We are using the name ‘Macan’ a bit loosely here, since Porsche probably sees it as a different car with a different model name that has not been announced yet. Most of the car is covered with camouflage, and the headlights are obviously decals pasted over the real things. Even so, looking closer reveals that the prototypes have Taycan-style headlamps. The tailpipes in the back are obviously fake, too.
By the time the battery CUV reaches production, it will likely have changed on the outside and the inside. We would expect it to retain the slanted roof and the active rear wing, but that is about it. Platform-wise, there is little doubt it will be based on the PPE tech used by most modern Porsche and Audi performance cars.
