Porsche Macan EV premiere date announced

Porsche has put a debut date on the battery-powered Macan: next Wednesday, January 24. The company has also posted a teaser pic of the SUV on its multiple official websites worldwide.

Only a small part of the SUV can be seen with slim taillights embracing the entire rear end, partially overlapping the bumper and a pop-up spoiler. Porsche had promised before that the electric Macan would have a much lower drag ratio than the petrol one – 0.25, as opposed to 0.35.

The company also said only dual-motor powertrains rated at 600+ horsepower (450+ kilowatts) will be offered. The same 100-kWh battery will be installed across the entire model range, delivering no less than 500 km (310 miles) of charge. Rapid charging, four-wheel steering and air suspension are also on the list.

International sales start this year. In some regions, the Macan EV will be offered alongside its petrol cousin.

Earlier spy shots of pre-production vehicles have already given us a good idea what to expect. Porsche also posted a teaser of the cabin with three displays.
