Porsche announced the forthcoming restyle of its Macan crossover/SUV at a special event in Shanghai.
Compared to the pre-facelift version, the new car has freshly designed headlights and a pseudo-3D LED stripe running across the entire trunk door. The same feature can be found in Cayenne and Panamera vehicles. More importantly, LED lighting is now available in the base trim level.
On the inside, there is a new multimedia system with an 11-inch display (the pre-facelift vehicle had a 7-inch one). It also sports new deflectors, a steering wheel like in the Porsche 911 with a paddle shifter, and a climate control unit that supports air ionization.
Among other things, Porsche engineers have reworked the stock Macan suspension, installed new wheels 20 and 21 inches large, and refreshed the tire design.
It is still uncertain whether the engine palette remained the same. An earlier rumor claimed that all three engines in the Macan lineup would be getting a performance boost. The entry-level engine would reportedly go up 48 hp / 36 kW to a total of 300 hp / 224 kW. The two high-end engines would be boosted to 360 hp / 268 kW (+20 hp / 15 kW) and 440 hp / 328 kW (+40 hp / 30 kW), respectively.
The facelifted series will only be available for purchase in China. Other countries will receive their own versions later.
