The second-generation Porsche Panamera has only recently received its mid-life refresh (see the photos and the videos here), but the manufacturer is already trying to conceptualize its future.
According to Porsche, the company has been thinking about the third generation trying to understand what kind of cars will be popular in several years’ time. Nearly 60 percent buyers in Europe opt for part-electric vehicles when given that opportunity, and this bit of statistics speaks well for future electrification plans. The statement emphasizes that there is no risk of the alleged electric Panamera cannibalizing the sales of another Porsche EV – the Taycan. Apparently, the company believes the two vehicles target too different audiences.
The current-gen Porsche Panamera will be getting a couple hybrid versions later, too, likely including a 4S E-Hybrid with around 560 PS (552 hp / 412 kW) and a range-topping Turbo S E-Hybrid.
