Following a single teaser image showing the cabin of the upcoming Porsche Taycan EV, the German luxury marque has released a whole series of richly detailed photos.
Interestingly, the interior design is somewhat reminiscent of that of the first 911, albeit reimagined in a modern way. For instance, the dashboard is represented by an enormous 16.8-inch display with several selectable modes. The engine start button sits to the right side of the steering wheel, right where all other Porsche cars have the ignition lock. The wheel can be simple, or you can opt for an advanced design with drive mode selection.
The technical specs remain unannounced. The electric vehicle is generally expected to produce more than 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts), accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 3.5 seconds, get to 200 km/h (124 mph) faster than 10 s, and max out far beyond 250 km/h (155 mph). The driving range should not be lower than 500 kilometers (310 miles).
The company says it will also be releasing an estate/wagon based on the Mission E Cross Turismo Concept.
The Taycan EV will celebrate its premiere on September 4, 2019.
