Porsche Taycan does an acceleration stunt on board an aircraft carrier

Porsche keeps pumping up the hype around its all-electric Taycan, which enjoys its international premiere later today. A new video shows the sports car doing a brisk sprint on board a military vessel.

Specifically, the racing stunt takes place on USS Hornet, an aircraft carrier that saw real military use in its glory days and also participated in the search and rescue operation of the crew of Apollo-11, the first people to have landed on the Moon. Nowadays, the ship serves as a floating museum.

Piloted by professional racing driver Shea Holbrook, the Taycan sped up to 90 mph (145 km/h) before stopping abruptly within 100 feet (30 meters) from the edge of the deck, thus demonstrating impressive acceleration and braking performance.

The Porsche Taycan premieres later today on three continents simultaneously.
