Multiple sources have reported that Porsche is preparing a new entry-level spec of its Taycan EV, with a single, rear-axle mounted electric motor and smaller battery.
This new Taycan spec will launch in select countries and regions where people rarely buy AWD vehicles, particularly in China.
The current Taycan range starts with the 4S spec, which boasts dual motors, AWD and 530 hp (395 kW) reaching the wheels. Its 79.2-kWh battery grants it up to 407 kilometers (253 miles) of driving range before charging becomes a necessity.
The premiere will likely take place next year.
