In its latest YouTube video, AutoBildSportsCars pits the electric Porsche Taycan Turbo S up against the gasoline-powered BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition on EuroSpeedway Lausitz.
The Taycan approached the 4.5-kilometer (2.8-mile) long racetrack packing dual electric engines jointly capable of 761 hp (567 kW) and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) of torque.
The BMW also made do with its stock/non-tuned drivetrain, which in its case meant a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 good for 625 hp (466 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.
Both cars have four-wheel drive, which is direct in the case of the Taycan. The BMW utilizes its newest eight-speed automatic transmission. It also weighs 400 kg (880 lbs) less than its rival does and costs €20,000 less.
The Porsche showed its superiority straight from the start, launching 0.4 seconds faster than the BMW did, but in the end, both cars showed very similar lap times.
