According to a number of reports in the German media, Porsche is struggling to launch production of its Taycan Cross Turismo estate/wagon before the end of the year. The pandemic is cited as the main reason behind the delay.
The wagon-shaped Taycan prototype debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show without concrete production plans. The company approved it as a production model soon after the show.
Despite the challenges arising from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the standard Porsche Taycan enjoys brisk sales in China and Europe. Things look less exciting in the USA where only the more expensive trims are currently available, but the manufacturer hopes that the planned introduction of an entry-level spec will fix that.
