Two Porsche Taycans set 13 records at once

Porsche has taken two of its Taycan e-saloons to the Brands Hatch Circuit in Great Britain. A nearly non-stop 1,000-kilometer drive took 13 hours to complete and left the automaker with 13 records.

Just to be clear, all achievements are recognized nationwide in Great Britain (they are not international) and apply to production EVs weighing above 1 metric ton (2,200 lbs). The contenders were a Taycan 4S rated at 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW) and a Turbo S capable of 760 PS (750 hp / 559 kW). A number of renowned racing drivers drove the duo in turns, only stopping from time to time to replenish the giant 93-kWh batteries. The runs began at 7:00 AM and went on until 8:00 PM.

The 4S set a series of Best Time records, covering 100 km (62 miles)  in 1h 01m 05s, 500 km (310 miles) in 6h 31m 56s, and 1,000 km (620 miles) in 13h 00m 25s. The Turbo S was predictably even more remarkable, doing 200 km (124 miles) in 2h 28m 49s, 450 km (280 miles) in around six hours and 900 km (560 miles) in around twelve hours.
