Porsche Taycan CUV/wagon debuts in the USA

Porsche has officially launched its Taycan family car based on the Mission E Cross Turismo Concept. The company insists on calling it a crossover, though it has all the makings of a wagon.

The Cross Turismo has 20 mm (0.8”) of extra ride height, special 20- and 21-inch wheels to choose between, bike holder rails, a modest off-road body kit, a panoramic sunroof and air-ride suspension. The latter two are included in the base spec.

U.S. buyers will only get the AWD variant of the Taycan Cross Turismo, which comes with dual motors rated rated between 380 and 625 PS (375 – 616 hp; 280 – 460 kW, accordingly). They are also limited to the largest battery size of 93.4 kWh. Opting for the top spec enables a brief boost to 761 PS (750 hp / 559 kW) and a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.7 seconds.

Prices in the United States start at $90,900. First cars will hit showroom floors this summer, and the driving range will only be disclosed then.
