Video: Taycan Cross Turismo eating sand and snow for breakfast

Porsche has surprised us with a fresh video dedicated to the wagon-shaped Taycan it revealed a while ago. Watch the sporty electric car plow through snow and sand like it’s an SUV.

Many Porsche customers were wondering how reliable the Taycan would be in extreme temperatures. To answer this question, the company took it to a desert trail, an iced-over lake, and a number of other scenic locations featuring a hot air balloon, a herd of camels, a sled of dogs, and a talented videographer.

Helping the Taycan get through all of this are a sophisticated torque vectoring system and dual electric motors installed one per axle. The system outputs 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) by default, but you could go for the top spec rated at 761 PS (750 hp / 560 kW) and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) of torque. In this form, the estate can go from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds.

Be sure to watch the video; trust us, it is something worth checking out.
