Porsche Taycan wagon sets a Guinness Book record

The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is an electric estate car with a cult following, and new members are bound to join the cult after the EV setting a new Guinness record for the biggest altitude change in a single driving session.

“This story began with the words, ‘What if?’” J. F. Musial, the leader of the driving team, said in an interview. He added that the project relied on the strong wills of people participating in it, as well as the car being largely unique.

The crew was able to enter the Eagle Mine – the only mine interior in the United States accessible by car – and descend to an altitude of 540 meters (1,772 feet) below sea level. 33 hours and 48 minutes later, the electric vehicle stood at the pinnacle of the Pikes Peak, 4,302 m (14,115 feet) above sea level.
