Electric cars amounted to 83.7 percent of all car sales in Norway in January, marking an all-time high. The Toyota RAV4 was the only fuel car to make it into the top-20, while the Porsche Taycan sold more units than all ICE cars put together.
Just why it was the Taycan remains unclear at this point. 175 gas-powered vehicles found new owners in Norway last month, as opposed to 181 Taycan units. Porsche reports selling 185 vehicles in the country over the same period, meaning only four were other models.
Having said that, the Taycan was far from being the most desired EV in Norway. The Audi Q4 e-tron, the Ioniq 5 and the BMW iX all came out on top of it in terms of unit sales, while the Taycan ranked 15th.
The list also included battery vehicles from Skoda, Volkswagen, Kia, Ford, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar and Peugeot. Interestingly enough, the 16th position in the rating was taken by the China-made Hongqi E-HS9. It sold 175 units, the same quantity as all ICE cars combined.
