The Tesla Model S Plaid had reigned supreme on the Nürburgring until Lars Kern hit the 20.8-kilometer-long track piloting a Taycan Turbo S and finished in 7:33.35, beating the Plaid by more than two seconds.
The latest Taycan Turbo S can hit the wheels with up to 761 PS (750 hp / 559 kW), making it a formidable track tool. This particular car received the optional Performance Pack, a roll cage and bucket seats. Included in the still-to-be-released package are 21-inch wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and various suspension adjustments for track driving.
The Performance Pack will go on sale in late 2022, Porsche says.
