Czech automaker Praga has officially announced the production start of its supercar Bohema first announced in the fall of 2022. The track-focused coupe wound up with an ultralight body design and a 3.8-liter Nissan GT-R V8 boosted to 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW).
The car is made almost completely out of carbon fiber and weighs under a metric ton (less than 2,200 lbs). Its well-appointed aerodynamics and fine-tuned suspension speak of its racetrack bias. The interior is also designed for racing first and foremost, but still offers such creature comforts as adjustable seats and climate control. The car is also formally street-legal.
The engine delivers its torque through a sequential gearbox, accelerating the Bohema 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.3 seconds and letting it hit 300 km/h (186 mph).
The company points out that it has conducted a range of driving tests since the announcement, including test runs at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium and the Nürburgring, Germany. F1 pilot Romain Grosjean and Top Gear’s ex-Stig Ben Collins were among the test drivers, providing their suggestions for Praga to consider while improving the design.
According to an earlier announcement, the production run will consist of 89 units priced from €1.36 million each. The assembly largely occurs by hand, so delivering the entire planned batch should take around four years, Praga reckons.
