British tuner Origin Automotive has stylized a Malaysia-made pickup truck named Proton Jumbuck to look like a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
The original Jumbuck (see video) comes based on the Wira sedan platform, which in turn has much in common with the 1991 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI. It even comes powered by a Mitsubishi 4G15 mill rated at 90 PS (89 hp / 66 kW) in its default form. Origin Automotive conducted a swap here, putting a 1.8-liter Proton Satria engine in the bay. The Satria was available in naturally aspirated (140 PS / 138 hp / 103 kW) and turbocharged (205 PS / 202 hp / 151 kW) variants, and the former is used here. Thus, while not as powerful as a purebred Lancer Evo, the Malaysian truck still enjoys a 50-hp boost over its standard form.
Outside, there are custom lights all around, a rather extensive body kit, and a new ventilated hood cover. We aren’t told whether the components are original or sourced from third parties. Rounding off the transformation is a set of XXR 527 wheels.
