Qiantu first showed us a prototype of its all-electric sports car named the K20 in 2018, but experienced difficulties and had to shut down for a couple of years. Now, the company is finally coming back with a production-ready K20.
The hatchback has a few interesting design traits. For one, the exterior door handles reside on the fenders. For another, the rear end sports the same color as the front end, but a darker hue. That, and the third door has a complex glass installed with a ‘crease’ in it.
The interior is rather laconic, finished in white with golden accents on the official photos. A two-spoke steering wheel allows a peek at a curved display, which combines the digital gauges and the infotainment screen and is somewhat offset to the left. The lack of a center console results in an impression that the display is floating in the air. The one jarring detail is the seats, which do not appear particularly sports-friendly with their flat backs.
Most technical details remain to be revealed. We do know that the model comes equipped with a single electric motor driving the rear axle and can accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.7 seconds. The entire traction battery is mounted at the bottom of the car.
