Ram 1500 to become hybrid first, electric later

Like most other car manufacturers, Ram is determined to electrify its lineup in the coming years. Apparently, the 1500 pickup truck will also make the switch thanks to large investments the company received from Stellantis Group.

The details remain secret, but there is an official teaser image for us to study in detail. Judging by it alone, the new 1500 BEV will have little to nothing in common with its gas-powered predecessor. Note the slim headlights, the illuminated logo, the front stub instead of the radiator grille, and the giant air intakes spanning nearly the entire front of the vehicle.

When presenting the new Ram 1500, Ram Brand CEO Mike Koval Jr. said the company would not follow in the footsteps of its competitors. He also stressed that the production would start as soon as 2024. By 2030, Ram intends to launch an all-electric version of its every production car, including the 1500.
