The Ram 1500 TRX lends itself well to many roles, but track tool isn’t one of them. Bulky and power-packed, it has no issue navigating bad roads, but feels totally out of its element on speedways and tracks with many sharp corners. Well, someone still hit the North Loop with it.
The YouTuber who did it was concerned that the security of the track would not admit the large and obnoxiously loud 1500 TRX for a few laps, but they did. Thanks to its massive power rating, the pickup actually ended up showing its tail to some supercars, but the euphoria dissolved at nearly every corner. In the video, you can hear the tires screeching and even see skid marks.
Powering the TRX is a 6.2-liter V8 blown to 712 PS (702 hp / 524 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. It needs 4.5 seconds to zap from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph).
