The new Ram 1500 pickup debuts at the Detroit Motor Show

The next-gen Ram 1500 pickup truck is being officially exhibited at the Detroit International Motor Show starting today. The first vehicles will be delivered to their owners in mid-2018.

The facelifted Ram 1500 got a new radiator grille, LED lighting and additional body kit parts that lend it a more unique, authentic appearance. It is also 100 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, which should mean extra fuel conservation. The manufacturer says that steel was only used where it was strictly required for durability purposes, while the rest of the car was made of aluminum and carbon.

The vehicle is a so-called “soft hybrid” featuring an FCA E-Torque engine. Two engine models, a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 hp and a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 410 hp, will be made available.

The interior of the new Ram 1500 sports nice, high-quality finishing and a touch-enabled infotainment system.
