Most of us prefer our cars fast – no matter whether your particular preference is a sports car, a bulky SUV or a pickup truck. Realizing this, Carwow put up a competition between this unlikely trio – an Audi TTS, a Porsche Cayman and a Hennessey TRX Mammoth. The three couldn’t be more different, right?
A few numbers first, if you would. The Porsche soft-roader draws its power from a 2.0-liter combustion engine rated at 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The Audi TTS gets a superior 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.
Weight is where things take an unexpected turn: the Cayman actually proves lighter than the TTS at 1,365 kg versus 1,420 (3,010 pounds vs. 3,130).
And then there is the Hennessey TRX Mammoth, which relies on a fire-spitting 6.2-liter V8 churning out a crazy 1,026 PS (1,012 hp / 755 kW) alongside 1,314 Nm (969 lb-ft) of torque. All four wheels are driven, but one can only guess how much the immense truck weighs.
The races were all very exciting, although most were dominated by two out of the three cars going shoulder-to-shoulder. Can you guess which ones? Watch the video!
