1,026-PS Hennessey pickup truck gets ready for an overlanding adventure

Hennessey Performance has unveiled a new version of its hardcore Mammoth 1000 TRX pickup called the Overland Edition. The truck is designed for long expeditions into the wilderness and can be purchased new or as a $19,950 upgrade for your Mammoth 1000.

The main novelty comes in the form of a special frame installed in the bed. You can adopt it for a large number of applications – for example, put a top deck on it with a slide-out awning and a camping tent. You can also mount assorted tools to its sides and install other equipment using the versatile frame provided. LED lighting and a water canister come with the purchase as well.

On the outside, the car boasts new bumpers with a LED bar at the front end, fuel cans and beadlock wheels shod in 37-inch off-road tires. The ground clearance is higher than stock, but power running boards are included for convenience getting in and out.

The original Mammoth 1000 TRX (see video) debuted last January based on the Ram 1500 TRX platform, still considered the world’s most powerful pickup truck in mass production. Its 6.2-liter V8 normally comes rated at 712 PS (702 hp / 524 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque, but Hennessey massages it to deliver 1,026 PS (1,012 hp / 755 kW) and 1,314 Nm (969 lb-ft) of torque.
