It took around a week for Ram to fill up its reservation pool for the all-electric 1500 REV pickup for the next year of production. We are getting reports that dealerships stopped taking pre-orders a few days ago, which is impressive considering that the interior and the tech specs remain to be fully revealed.
The production version of the truck debuted at the Superbowl on February 12. At the same time, the company opened its pre-order books for the 2025-model-year truck. Customers were charged a refundable $100 deposit to confirm their orders.
Ram never revealed how many pickups it intended to produce next year. The assembly is expected to begin in H2 2024, but this is not official.
There are still precious few things that we know about the 1500 REV. What we do know is that it has two electric motors, fast charging and a small-time combustion engine for keeping the battery charge up. This range-extender configuration enables the truck to have around 500 miles (805 km) of driving range.
The interior remains to be shown, but the shots revealed so far suggest that the final version will be nearly indistinguishable from the standard Ram 1500. On the outside, you will have to know where to look to tell the EV from the petrol truck (for instance, there are new headlights and a solid panel where the radiator grille is supposed to be).
