When Ram unveiled the battery-powered 1500 ‘Revolution’ pickup in February this year, it kept most of the details secret. It is only now that we can finally take a look at the proper specs.
As it turns out, the 1500 EV can tow up to 6,350 kg (14,000 pounds) of cargo. It can wade water up to 61 cm (23.9 inches) tall and comes with two battery size options. The smaller pack is still rather giant by the industry standards at 168 kilowatt-hours of capacity and yields around 563 km (350 miles) of range. The larger of the two stores up to 229 kWh and should be enough for 805 km (500 miles) of continuous driving.
Fast charging enables truck owners to replenish 177 km (110 miles) of range within just 10 minutes of charging. The port is bidirectional, meaning you can power up external appliances from your truck.
Last but not least, Ram highlights the use of an active air-ride suspension system, complete with adaptive shocks and five different modes of operation. The differences between the modes remain to be explained, though.
