The Overland Expo West that opened today, May 19, is home to a one-off extreme project car dubbed the Ultimate Overland Vehicle, which conceals a 2022 Lexus LX600 under all the aftermarket equipment.
The modifications begin with an all-new front fascia – the bumper, the Solo Series 12.5 winch and the two LED floodlights haven’t been there before. The roof accommodates a box with a camping tent and an awning inside.
To make sure that the SUV is not all show and no extra go, numerous modifications have been made in the suspension department. The control arms, the shocks and the struts are all new, adding more than 60 mm (2.4 inches) of ground clearance over stock.
Finally yet importantly, the LX600 now runs on a set of 33/12.5 R17 Kenda Klever R/T tires with a spare wheel and an extra tire set in the back.
As for the camper add-on, it is a cozy living space with a queen-size bed, an AC and hot water on board. The kitchen is of a slide-out design due to the obvious space constraints.
