A special edition of the Ram 1500 pickup truck, which celebrates the 144th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby horse races, has gone on sale in the United States. The batch consists of 2,000 cars worth U.S. $53,190 and above each.
Interestingly, even though the new Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby bases itself on the hi-end Limited trim version, it costs $700 less.
The first look at of the new pickup truck rewards the observer with a beautiful rose-and-horseshoe ornament decorating its rear part. Among other options, buyers of the rare Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby will be able to select among several body colors and opt for the more expensive 22-inch wheel set instead of the stock 20-inch one.
The shiny new Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby is still driven by the same old 5.7-liter V8 engine good for 395 hp (295 kW) and 556 Nm of torque (410 lb-ft) as in the base model.
