Drag Race: Tuned Ram TRX vs. Stock Ford GT

Hennessey continues its fine tradition of drawing highly unrealistic comparisons between vastly different cars. Having shown a Chevy Corvette the taillights, the formidable Ram TRX Mammoth went up against a Ford GT. It was enjoyable to see it struggle for a change!

In case you missed it, the Mammoth 1200 tuning kit by Hennessey Performance dials up the output of the Ram TRX to 1,217 PS (1,200 hp / 895 kW). Along with a rapid-switching 8AT and four driven wheels, it makes the truck a veritable time attack machine.

That is, until you factor in the weight. The Ram comes in at just under three metric tons (6,500 lbs), making it a heavyweight. It’s also by no means a low-drag machine.

As for the Ford GT, it approaches the start line in stock condition with 656 PS (647 hp / 482 kW) under the hood, launch control, a low-drag profile and a low 1,521 kg (3,354 lbs) of weight – about a half of the TRX.

Without further ado, we suggest just watching the video, where the GT is driven by none other than Schmee150. Four races are held in total, and the results are surprising every time.
