Ram admits it needs a mid-size pickup in North America

Tim Kuniskis, now reinstated as the CEO of Ram Trucks, said in an interview that he saw a market niche for a mid-size pickup in the U.S. market.

In his latest talk with the media, he complained that larger trucks had grown more and more expensive in the country, forcing customers to look for cheaper alternatives. The issue is, rival automakers offer such alternatives while Ram doesn’t.

As you may know, a compact-sized truck called Ram 1200 is already on sale in Mexico – check out the gallery and the video here if you haven’t seen it. The catch is, it isn’t an original American vehicle, but rather a rebadged Changan Hunter from China.
