The Ram pickup truck family received a major update around two years ago, gaining quite a bit of engine power, load and tow capacity. The next-year lineup takes these even further.
The 2021 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty can now tow trailers weighing up to 16,828 kilograms (37,100 lbs), which is 907 kg (2,000 lbs) more than before. The trailer can be attached via a gooseneck hitch located inside the truck bed. Nominal power output stays at 406 PS (400 hp / 299 kW), but torque rises 102 Nm (75 lb-ft) to 1,458 Nm (1,075 lb-ft).
Another much-needed feature comes in the form of a rearview mirror with an inbuilt display showing the footage from the reversing camera. Those who often need to transport large amounts of cargo will know to appreciate it.
The new Ram 3500 HD will arrive to the dealerships before the end of the current year.
