Carbuzz reports citing anonymous sources that Stellantis will be naming the first all-electric Ram truck ‘Revolution’. There is no official information to confirm or deny it.
The name could serve as an indication that major changes are coming for the Ram lineup. It also has ‘EV’ in it, making it an easy choice among the marketing people.
However it may be, the Ram EV will not debut until at least the fall of 2023, with the sales starting in 2024 or later. The pickup is expected to come with large batteries storing up to 159 kilowatt-hours of power and thus offer up to 800 km (500 miles) of driving range on a charge.
Stellantis lags perceptively behind the competition with its EV agenda. GMC and Rivian are already selling their electric trucks, with the Ford F-150 Lightning getting ready to debut next. Having said that, Tesla’s Cybertruck is unfashionably late to the party, so if Ram hurries, it just might arrive second-to-last.
