The North American truck manufacturer Ram said it would release a new, hi-end TRX pickup on the national market in 2022.
The company is going to develop the vehicle based on the Rebel TRX Concept it demonstrated two years ago. The Ram TRX is going to get a modified version of the 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine which comes with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Whether its performance of 710 hp / 530 kW is going to be changed in any way is uncertain.
As an extreme off-roader and the strongest pickup truck in the entire Ram lineup, the vehicle will feature heavy-duty suspension, a specially designed exhaust system, powerful brakes, cross-country tires and a full off-road package.
Ram representatives remain silent on the technical specifications and prices. The exact premiere date is also unknown so far.
Apart from the extreme pickup, the company plans to release another pickup model and a mid-size car – neither of these in the next five years, however. It also wants to update its Promaster City cargo van range.
