An enterprising duo never went to any kind of tuner shop. A thousand U.S. dollars spent at the nearest Ikea outlet proved sufficient to turn a Ram Promaster van into a permanent home on wheels.
The idea survived the test of time: having moved in this spring, the couple has spent more than eight months on the road, traveling, enjoying life and having no regrets whatsoever.
The first thing to do was to buy heat insulation materials to raise the indoor temperatures to acceptable levels. Once this was done, they added a kitchen area, a sink, a table, and a bed.
In the end, $1,000 proved enough money to turn a rather mundane van into a motorhome of dreams. A tuner would have needed dozens of thousands at the very least. Impressive!
