Ram confirms ProMaster EV premiere in a few months

The Ram ProMaster was a huge sales hit in the United States last year, perhaps in some part thanks to refreshed looks. Whatever the reason, though, the company is resolved to keep the demand high by introducing an all-electric variant of the van.

Scheduled to debut in ‘spring 2023’, the first buyers in the U.S. will receive the van before the end of the year, Ram says.

There is still no specific launch date and the details are otherwise lacking, so the rest is our guesses and unofficial reports. For instance, MoparInsiders claims that the ProMaster EV will actually ride on the same chassis and tech as the all-electric Fiat Ducato for Europe.

If true, this would mean a single electric motor driving the wheels with 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque. There are two batteries to choose from, 47 and 79 kWh large, and the urban driving range maxes out at 370 km (230 miles).
