Ram introduces a ProMaster EV

Ram has expanded its vehicle lineup with the marque’s first electric commercial van: the ProMaster EV. It will ship with only one motor/battery combination, but multiple body sizes to choose from. Pre-ordering is already open with full prices starting from $77,995.

The exterior is identical to that of the gas-powered van. An electric motor mounted on the front axle drives it with 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and 409 Nm (302 lb-ft) of torque. A 110-kWh battery pack yields up to 260 km (161 miles) of range in city conditions. Charging sources rated up to 150kW are supported.

The first trim version to ship is called Delivery and targets delivery services in the USA. It has a roll-up rear door and can carry up to 920 kilos (2,028 pounds) of load. Later on, a different version named Cargo will arrive with a rated max load of 1,370 kg (3,020 lbs) and regular hinged doors in the back.

Depending on your chosen configuration, the ProMaster EV can have a wheelbase up to 4,050 mm (158.2 inches) long and a cargo area sized up to 3,962 mm (154.8 inches) deep and 2,184 mm (85.3 inches) tall. Its volume maxes out at roughly 14,800 liters (522 cubic feet) if you opt for the biggest van body size.

Feature-wise, Ram promises us a 10.1-inch infotainment display, a wireless charger, steering wheel and windshield heating, and assorted driving aids that add up to a Level 2 self-driving system.
