The resurrected French automaker has unveiled its first hypercar model, the D12. The production run will be limited to 30 units, and the first two have already found owners for €2,000,000 each.
Delage counted among the best-known auto marques in pre-WWII France, specializing in both road vehicles and racecars. It shut down in 1953, but was revived by a modern rights holder.
The D12 follows the historic tradition of specifying the cylinder count in the model name. As the company revealed today, the coupe comes powered by a 7.6-liter V12 paired with a minor electric engine. The standard hybrid spec delivers 1,130 metric horsepower (830 kW), but a lower spec called D12 Club will become available later with 1,038 PS (764 kW) under the hood. Both utilize the same eight-speed dual-clutch transmission design.
The two seats inside are arranged in a tandem fashion, the suspension makes use of pushrods, and the racer only needs 2.5 seconds to zap from nothing to 100 km/h (0-62 mph).
Delage emphasizes that it expects to set a new Nürburgring record among road-legal production cars.
