Renault India teases the domestic Kiger Concept due out in 2021

The Indian subsidiary of Renault has unveiled the Kiger Concept, a pre-production mini-SUV with bold looks targeted towards the younger audiences.

The car boasts quite a bit of ground clearance (210 mm / 8.2”), large 19-inch wheels, bulky plastic guards on the body, and rails on the roof. The main attraction for us is the forked rear spoiler, however, especially since the company claims this element will make it into the final production version.

The body of the car comes painted Aurora Borealis, a unique shade that changes depending on your viewing angle.

The manufacturer uses the CMF-A+ of the Nissan Magnite for the Kiger, as well as its two engines: the 1.0-liter non-turbo rated at 72 PS (71 hp / 53 kW) and the turbo three-pot good for 95 PS (94 hp / 72 kW). The former supports five-speed manual only, while the latter gets a choice between CVT and manual. The drive stays on the front axle by default.

Renault will be showing us the Kiger in its final production guise next year. Prices will be kept under Rs 5.3 Lakh.
