The classical Renault 4L economy car turns sixty this year, and the manufacturer has a ‘surprise’ for us in store related to this anniversary. While not official, multiple sources have reported that the 4L is going to be resurrected in an electric car form.
Several British media claim the prototype will emerge in the fall of 2021, and the EV may reach the market as a full-fledged production car with retro looks by 2025.
Around 8,000,000 units of the original 4L had been produced until 1994. Renault says it will be holding multiple online events to celebrate this milestone.
It is reported that the new 4L will mainly ship as a mini-SUV, although an LCV version may become available later.
