Renault 4Ever Trophy bows in Paris

Renault has come to the 2022 Paris Motor Show with a concept of an SUV named the 4Ever Trophy. The FWD show car is loaded with off-road attributes and previews a production car set to debut under the iconic name of Renault 4 and send the latest Captur to retirement.

The similarities with the original Renault 4 are mostly found in individual exterior parts. Examples include lights built into the (fake) radiator grille, irregularly shaped windows near the c-pillars and a body tapering towards the rear end.

Having said that, the overall design is ostensibly modern. The concept features pixelated headlights, recessed handles, cameras instead of side mirrors and tire pressure control compressors built straight into the 19-inch wheels. The whole body sports a Gunmetal Grey Metallic finish with vivid color accents here and there.

The off-road focus of the car is emphasized by its elaborate bumpers, bottom guards protecting the battery from damage, and a carbon-fiber expedition rack with additional lights and accessories. The ground clearance amounts to 200 mm, or 7.8 inches.

Powering the SUV is a single motor rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and a 42-kWh battery. Coming in at 4,160 mm (162.5 inches) long with 2,570 mm (100.4 inches) between the axles, it is slightly smaller than the Renault Captur.

The production will not begin until 2024.
